'Bronze Vulva Cast' - 2017

 

My original vulva cast. A combination of plaster and modroc with a thin coat of bronze acrylic paint and a spray glaze finish. This piece evolved from an art project in which I was exploring 'sexualisation' as a subject. I believe this piece acts as a type of unconventional self-portrait of a stigmatised part of the female body. Since producing this piece I have created many more vulva casts in a variety of colours and materials and hope to continue my exploration of this subject.
